Purdue will host Nobel Prize winner Sir Angus Deaton and Anne Case, both renowned economists, on Tuesday (March 26) when they will present their lecture “Inequality, Deaths of Despair, and the Future of Capitalism.” Case and Deaton’s lecture will take a close look at “deaths of despair,” which refer to deaths from suicide, drug overdoses and alcoholic liver disease.
