What IF carbon capture is the next moonshot?

Jennifer Wilcox, climate change expert and James H. Manning Chaired Professor of Chemical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, will deliver a keynote speech today (March 25) to discuss carbon management and strategies that could prevent climate warming by the turn of the century.

Purdue will host Nobel Prize winner Sir Angus Deaton and Anne Case, both renowned economists, on Tuesday (March 26) when they will present their lecture “Inequality, Deaths of Despair, and the Future of Capitalism.” Case and Deaton’s lecture will take a close look at “deaths of despair,” which refer to deaths from suicide, drug overdoses and alcoholic liver disease. This Giant Leaps Series event is one of many celebrating Purdue’s Sesquicentennial, 150 Years of Giant Leaps. Don't Miss It!

Karcher, Naik receive teaching awards

Elizabeth Karcher, assistant professor in the Department of Animal Sciences, has been named a recipient of the 2019 Exceptional Early Career Award, and Sameer Naik, continuing lecturer in the School of Mechanical Engineering, has been honored with the 2019 Excellence in Instruction Award for Continuing Lecturers.
