Purdue Profiles: George Kalamaras

As soon as George Kalamaras walked into the classroom to begin his teaching assistantship at Colorado State University in 1980, it felt natural and right. He knew teaching was a profession he could see himself working in for a long time. Kalamaras grew up in Cedar Lake, Indiana, and is in his 28th year teaching at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. As the former poet laureate of the State of Indiana, he strives to push his students to a deeper understanding of the art of language.
