JetPack serves as textbook alternative in new computer science course
After a frustrating search for appropriate and affordable course materials for a new computer science class, Professor Jennifer Neville was surprised to learn that the solution she was looking for was right in her backyard. JetPack, a publishing platform developed by ITaP's Informatics group, is a digital textbook alternative designed to store text, videos, audio and other course materials at no cost to students or instructors.

Janice Voss, Purdue astronaut, dies
Purdue alumna Janice E. Voss, 55, one of the few women launched into space, died of breast cancer Monday (Feb. 6) in Scottsdale, Ariz., where she was receiving treatment. Vote for Lowe's Senior CLASS finalists, Robbie Hummel and Brittany Rayburn
Purdue seniors Robbie Hummel and Brittany Rayburn are finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, an honor that recognizes excellence both on and off the court. Purdue is the only school to have both a men's and women's basketball player as finalists and currently Rayburn holds a slight lead in the fan voting, while Hummel is in second place by 1.6 percent.
