Council brings campus together to discuss sustainability

Sustainability at Purdue focuses on measurable efforts such as energy conservation, responsible use of land, water and other environmental resources, a commitment to pollution prevention and waste minimization, and increasing awareness and acceptance of personal responsibility for Purdue and its surrounding communities.

The Purdue Sustainability Council was formed in 2007 to bring faculty, staff, and students together to share ideas on sustainability. The council hosts a series of educational forums that are open to Purdue people and members of our community. More

Purdue to dedicate Niswonger Aviation Technology Building

Purdue will dedicate the newly expanded Niswonger Aviation Technology Building at 4 p.m. today (Sept. 25). The addition of 18,200 square feet of learning space to the former aviation technology building will help centralize the department's operations and provide new lecture halls, classrooms, meeting rooms, a collaborative suite and a new computer laboratory. Jeff Bolin joins Office of the Vice President for Research

Jeff Bolin has been named associate vice president for research, after serving as associate dean for research for the College of Science since 2005. Bolin will have general responsibility for various aspects of research administration, long-range and annual planning, and oversight of inter- and cross-disciplinary efforts in research. His appointment became effective Sept. 1.

Purdue Agriculture senior to appear on ABC's 'Shark Tank'

Sawyer Sparks, a senior in the College of Agriculture and creator of a soy-based modeling dough, will appear on the ABC show "Shark Tank" in an attempt to convince a panel of judges to financially back his invention. The episode of the show featuring Sparks will air at 8 p.m. EST on Tuesday (Sept. 29). More
