'Smart turbine blades' to improve wind power

Researchers have developed a technique that uses sensors and computational software to constantly monitor forces exerted on wind turbine blades, a step toward improving efficiency by adjusting for rapidly changing wind conditions. The research by engineers at Purdue and Sandia National Laboratories is part of an effort to develop a smarter wind turbine structure. More

Purdue 'All-American' Marching Band to march in 2010 Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

On Nov. 25, 2010, the Purdue "All-American" Marching Band will become the first Big Ten band to march in the legendary Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City. More

Purdue Cancer Center Challenge results are in

The Purdue Cancer Center Challenge raised more than $55,000 that will be used to conduct basic cancer research at the West Lafayette campus. The event on April 18 drew 1,300 runners and walkers. Consultant presentation to focus on campus climate for gender and sexual minorities

Sue Rankin, associate professor in education policy studies and research associate in the Center for the Study of Higher Education at Penn State University, will give a one-hour talk and presentation titled "Creating an Inclusive Campus Climate for LGBTQ Students, Staff, and Faculty" at 1:15 p.m. today (May 4) in Room 310, Stewart Center. More
