Our Focus

Welcome to the website of the Office of Campus Master Planning & Sustainability at Purdue University.

At Purdue, we're committed to finding innovative ways of living sustainably. Our task is to provide a comprehensive approach to sustainability on campus by linking the many initiatives already under way across the university, collaborating with the Lafayette-West Lafayette community on innovative projects, and creating a long-term vision.

Purdue University formalized its sustainability vision and goals in the Sustainability Strategic Plan in April 2010. In 2012, the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education granted us a “Silver” STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment, and Rating System) rating, which is the national standard for sustainability reporting in higher education.

In this website, you will find news and details about all the different areas our office participates in to help ensure a clean and sustainable life for the Purdue community. In addition to the long- and short-term goals outlined in our strategic plan, you will find information on some key sustainability initiatives at Purdue, related to energy, water management, transportation, green building, and landscaping, among others.
