Donate to Basic Needs Program

Purdue’s Basic Needs Program serves as a gateway for students who need additional support to meet their most critical needs, like food, housing, transportation, healthcare, childcare and technology. Your support allows our office to build connections, support students and advocate for their needs.

Where does your money go?

Many of the services we provide would not exist without the generosity of donors. Gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated and have a significant impact on the students we serve.

Donations may be designated to the following areas:

General Fund

Support the services and programs that focus on meeting the basic needs of students at Purdue University. Explore our website to learn more about the exciting opportunities your dollars will support.

Academic Scholarships

The Span Plan Legacy Scholarship supports nontraditional students who are navigating unique educational paths. This includes students who are parenting, married, financially independent, delayed enrollment or transferred from another institution.

Each year, over 60 students receive this renewable scholarship worth up to $2,500. This funding ensures students have a stable stream of financial support that would not otherwise be available.

Student Parent Support Fund

The Student Parent Support Fund directly supports our Childcare Assistance Scholarship. The Basic Needs Program is the only provider of childcare assistance to undergraduate student parents on campus.
