Visit of Architect Carmen Cecilia Salas and Engineer Jose Luis Huanque Quispe from the Universidad Nacional de San Augustin (UNSA)

Last week, Carmen Cecilia Salas Chavez (UNSA Architect) and Jose Luis Huanque Quispe (UNSA Engineer and Architect) visited Purdue and the Arequipa-Nexus Institute to coordinate the design of the CIEPA research building for the New Nexus in Arequipa, Peru. 

Carmen Cecilia and Jose Luis met with different Purdue Faculty and visited lab facilities to help them design and plan for the future lab space and equipment at the new research facility in Arequipa. The Faculty are part of the 21 research projects from the Arequipa-Nexus Intitute and they collaborate with the investigators from UNSA.  At the end, they identified the general criteria for the development of the research facility and the type of equipment it will be needed and the policies involved in the accident control measures for the researchers and for the maintenance of the lab’s equipment.
