Center for Healthy Living workshop to focus on healthy holiday eating

As the fall and winter holidays approach, the Center for Healthy Living wants to help employees keep their health and wellness in check. Therefore, the center is offering a workshop focused on healthy holiday eating from noon to 12:50 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Center for Healthy Living.

The workshop, presented by Ellen Welch, registered dietitian at the center, will help attendees identify weaknesses when it comes to holiday foods as well as tips on how to ensure that exercise needs are met. How to make healthy choices that help control weight and associated stress also will be covered. 

“The holidays can be the most difficult time of the year for clients who are trying to maintain a healthy regimen, considering food is part of almost every holiday celebration,” Welch says. “While it’s OK to indulge somewhat during this time, it’s also important to have a strategy that will make it a little easier to choose healthier options.”

The Center for Healthy Living’s workshops and resources are provided at no cost to benefits-eligible employees and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan. Workshops are designed to educate attendees and improve their overall health. For more information on services offered at the center, please visit the center online.
