Celebration of Women Veterans set for Tuesday

Purdue's Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence and the Military Family Research Institute will hold a Celebration of Women Veterans at 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 6) in the Walnut Room at the West Lafayette Public Library, 208 W. Columbia St.
The celebration will feature a keynote presentation from Erika Steuterman, a retired U.S. Air Force major general, Purdue alumna and four-year member of the Purdue Air Force ROTC. Also at the event, a panel of veterans will talk about their challenges and triumphs in the service. The panel includes a Vietnam War woman veteran, an Iraq and Afghanistan woman veteran who served 10 years, an Iraq and Afghanistan male veteran, and two other women veterans who will share about their experiences of emotional/family challenges during and after their time of service.
The event is free and open to the public.
