QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer -- three simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone to help.

QPR is an approach to confronting someone about their thoughts of suicide. It is not intended to be a form of counseling or treatment, instead it is a means to offer hope through positive action. For more information on QPR, visit the QPR Institute at https://www.qprinstitute.com/.

In addition, the Advocacy and Support Center offers a 30-minute presentation on its Services Overview and the Behavior Intervention Team (BIT)/Recognizing Students of Concern presentations. Complete the Presentation and Training Request Form to schedule an event.
