High School Go Karting Series

The High School Go Karting Series, held each year in May, puts academic and racing skills to the test for high school students. The event is very similar to the International Collegiate evGrandPrix — the biggest difference is that this high school race uses gel cell lead acid batteries.  Visit www.evgrandprix.org for more information

This race helps build excitement for STEM education in a racing setting. That's why Purdue is developing classroom curricula, clinics, summer camps and workshops. We'll have updates here on the website or you can email Danny White at white66@purdue.edu.

Academic competition categories

Energy efficiency — finishing the race using the least amount of power

Community outreach — changing the perception of electric vehicles, as documented by a portfolio

Design review — unique characteristics of kart designs, including the battery system and drivetrain

Race placement — final placement numbers

You can get ready for the race by sending an email to express your interest to Danny White.
