Yiwei Huang and David Barbarash Attended 2025 CELA Conference

Yiwei Huang and David Barbarash attended the 2025 Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture (CELA) conference in Portland, Oregon to both serve in their Board of Directors positions and to present novel research.

Yiwei served as Regional Director overseeing programs in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, and Wisconsin while Dave served as the 2nd Vice President and Chair for Awards and Recognition, presenting awards at the annual banquet after leading review juries for 15 faculty and student awards.

Yiwei presented research titled Teaching human factors in landscape design: strategies and assessments, with Professor Patsy Owens and Professor Jayoung Koo.

Dave presented research titled Designing Personality – artificial intelligence and digital simulation and Training the Next Generation of Designers – internships and expectations. He also spoke at an invited panel discussion on STEM teaching in landscape architecture.
