On Wednesday, John Orick and Pam Fisher traveled to Indianapolis to prepare the Purdue Extension Master Gardener (EMG) Plant Info to Go Booth at the Indiana State Fair. This engaging and educational booth, located in the Purdue Extension Building at the north end of the fairgrounds, will be staffed by dedicated EMG volunteers from across Indiana throughout the fair’s run from August 1–17.
The booth offers fairgoers a unique opportunity to connect with master gardeners and get answers to their gardening and lawn care questions. In addition to promoting the Purdue EMG Program, the booth features a fun and interactive insect identification challenge, “What’s Bugging My Plants?”—designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding of plant health and pest management.
This initiative exemplifies Purdue University’s Department and Horticulture and Landscape Architecture’s commitment to practical, research-based outreach and education to the citizens of Indiana.
If you’re attending the Indiana State Fair, we invite you to stop by the Plant Info to Go Booth and experience Purdue Extension Master Gardeners in action.
