Extension educators and specialists learn about Teter’s approach to tarping for weed control.
Ashley Adair (HLA) and James Wolff (ANR Allen County) led a Diversified Farming and Food Systems Focus Group meeting at Teter Organic Farm in Noblesville, IN on Friday, 10/24. The group shared programming updates, discussed approaches to supporting the new extension pod pilot program, and received training on delivering the Grass to Garden (G2G) program from Karen Mitchell (HLA). Later, Katy Rogers, Director of Operations and Farm Manager, led us on a tour of the farm, which is a certified organic and diversified vegetable farm with a mission to “increase access to healthy, nutritious food for vulnerable populations while providing ecological education and building relationships within the community.” Teter markets produce through direct sales and a Community Supported Agriculture Program and donates produce to Hamilton County area food banks. The farm has been involved with Purdue ag research recently, such as the Indiana Organic Network’s Soil Health Census.

Karen Mitchell shares details about the Grass to Garden signature program.
