Ariana Torres trained entrepreneurs in the Peruvian jungle, as part of her USAID-funded project Peru-HUB. Her trainings covered topics related to business development and digital marketing.
Ariana Torres received funding from the HRI (Horticulture Research Institute) to work on the Marketplace Acceptance of Native Plants. She will be working with collaborators from University of Tennessee, University of Delaware, and Michigan State University to investigate consumers’ demand, preferences, and attitudes for native plants.
Ariana Torres attended the S1087 multi-state meeting in Miami, FL. The multistate group titled Sustainable Practices, Economic Contributions, Consumer Behavior, and Labor Management in the U.S. Environmental Horticulture Industry met to discuss project’s outcomes and new data collection efforts. We also visited ornamental growers in Florida adopting automated machinery and growing specialty ornamentals.
