Shivika Aggrawal Presented Research at Annual Meeting of the Oral History Association

A researcher presents findings on social-ecological memory during a conference presentation.

Shivika Aggrawal, from Dr. Aaron Thompson’s lab in the Center for Community & Environmental Design (CCED), delivered an oral presentation “Midwest farms as social-ecological memory landscapes: Oral histories of extreme weather adaptation in the U.S. Midwest” at the 60th Annual Meeting of the Oral History Association (OHA), held in Portland, Oregon, from October 14-17, 2026. This year’s meeting, themed “Landscapes of Memory: We Are the Land,” brought together scholars and practitioners exploring the relationships among memory, place, land, and the role of oral history in documenting lived experiences.
