Join Purdue Extension and the Diverse Corn Belt initiative for the Vermillion County Diverse Farm Tour, a day of learning, networking, and exploration of agricultural diversification opportunities. Participants will visit local farms and businesses to learn firsthand about production practices, marketing strategies, and value-added agricultural enterprises.
Whether you are a farmer, landowner, agricultural professional, or simply interested in diversified agriculture, all are welcome to attend.
Tour Highlights
Royer Farm Fresh – Clinton
The morning stop will feature discussions on:
- Beef, pork, lamb, and chicken production from farm to consumer
- Meat marketing and sales strategies
- Working with butcher shops
- Pricing considerations and regulatory paperwork
Lunch Session
Vermillion County 4-H Community Building, Cayuga Park
Participants will enjoy lunch while learning about:
- Marketing strategies for diverse agricultural products
Tarquini’s Fresh Produce – Perrysville
The afternoon stop will focus on:
- Home-grown tomato production, including washing, sorting, and cooling practices
- Farm diversification into cucumbers, peppers, cut flowers, and other specialty crops
