• A current resume or CV
• Three letters of recommendation
• A one-page cover letter summarizing: your research interests and why you want to pursue research in the Sustainable Horticulture Lab.
• In a separate document answer the following questions:
1.Describe a situation that demonstrates your work ethic and ability to complete complex tasks in a timely manner.
2.Provide an example of a work/academic situation that typifies how you handle adversity when striving to attain a goal.
3.What motivates you to pursue your proposed graduate studies, and how will completion of these studies prepare you to achieve your goals?
4. Describe a specific example from your work/academic experiences that demonstrates your level of curiosity and creativity?
Qualifications: Applicants will have a strong interest in vegetable production, ecological weed management, nutrient cycling, soil health, and/or integrated systems. An undergraduate degree (for MS position) or MS degree (for PhD position) in Horticulture, Agronomy, Soil Science, or related field is required. Interest or experience with animal agriculture or husbandry will be a strong benefit. Being a team player and inclusivity are expected. You will be a good fit if you are willing to work collaboratively to achieve a shared goal and inclusive and eager to work with and treat all members of the lab with respect.
Requirements:
- A strong desire to work on interdisciplinary projects as team player.
- Driver's license or ability to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of start for traveling to and from remote field locations.
