Society for Ambulatory Assessment Conference 2026

Dr. Susan South attends the Society for Ambulatory Assessment conference in Vienna, Austria, where she presents her work on an updated review of the literature examining diary and ecological momentary assessment (EMA) studies in older adults since 2007. The rapid growth of diary and EMA research, aided by advances in technology, has created a need for an updated review of the field. This work examines how ambulatory assessment methods have been used with older adult populations and identifies emerging trends, gaps in the literature, and directions for future research.

About the book (from the publisher)

“Psychopathology and Mental Health” brings both the science and the personal aspects of the discipline to life in an attempt to answer pressing questions as accurately and sensitively as possible. For the 10th edition, longtime authors Thomas Oltmanns and Robert Emery are joined by new co-authors Kelsie Forbush and Susan South. The expanded author team discusses diagnosis and treatment in context to explain the biological, psychological and social perspectives on psychopathology and mental health.

The 10th edition incorporates the latest research findings, including references to hundreds of new studies. Topics receiving new and updated coverage include alternatives to the traditional categorical diagnostic system and the prevalence of mood disorder symptoms.
