Relationships and Mental Health Lab

About

The Relationships and Mental Health Lab is led by Dr. Susan C. South, Ph.D., a Professor in the Clinical area of the Department of Psychological Sciences at Purdue University. We study the interplay between important relationships in one’s life, particularly intimate romantic relationships, and the experience of psychopathology (i.e., symptoms and associated features of mental illness). The goal of the lab is to identify when relationships can be a positive support during the experience of mental illness and when dysfunctional relationships can be a stressor that triggers or exacerbates mental illness.
