Professor Charalampos came to Purdue University to observe how the VACCINE lab utilizes and develops its visual analytics program, with hours spent with Dr. David Ebert and Dr. Chittayong Surakitbanharn (Jao), members Purdue’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. In addition, he spent time with members of Purdue’s Mechanical Engineering department, Civil Engineering department, Communication department, and the Forest and Natural Resources department.

Floods, Disasters & Tornadoes with Chief Flannelly (LPD)

Purdue Policy Research Institute (PPRI) hosted a symposium entitled “Floods, Tornadoes, and disaster Resilience — a look at the social and policy aspects of disaster resilience”. The Panel discussion topic was: Multi-Faceted Solutions to Strengthen Communities When Disasters Strike. "The purposes of the panel were to highlight some of Purdue's strengths in research related to management of natural hazards and the determinants of community resilience, and to get individuals from a variety of backgrounds to discuss different perspectives on resilience," - David Johnson, assistant professor of industrial engineering and political science.
