
Letter of Invitation for International Students' Families
The Office of the Registrar will provide a letter of invitation to assist graduates whose guests need to apply for a visa in order to attend their student’s commencement ceremony. The letter can be requested by sending an e-mail to commencement@purdue.edu by the end of the first week of the term.
The e-mail should include:
- Graduate’s name
- PUID number
- Degree being earned
- Date/s of ceremony in which the graduate plans to participate
- Names of guests (Please specify relationship next to guest’s name, example: mother, father, etc.)
The letter of invitation will be e-mailed back to the graduate, only if the graduate is a candidate for the term, who can then forward it to the guests for use in documenting their visa request. Please allow two weeks to receive. Receipt of an invitation letter does not guarantee candidate status or participation in the ceremony.
