  • 02/13/2023- The BigCare 2023 Summer Workshop application process has ended. We are currently reviewing all submitted applications. The workshop will be held on-site on May 19-28, 2023 at Purdue University, in West Lafayette, IN. 
  • 10/31/2022- The application for the BigCare 2023 Summer Workshop is open now! Please submit your application HERE. The application deadline will be Friday, January 6, 2023.
  • 10/10/2022- We are please to announce the BigCare 2023 Summer Workshop on May 19-28, 2023. The 10-day workshop will be held on-site at Purdue University, in West Lafayette, IN. We will start the application process soon and the application deadline will be January 6, 2023. Please watch our website for updates.
  • 08/01/2022- 2022 Summer Workshop was completed. We will announce the 2023 workshop and open for application once the date is decided. Please check our website for updates!
  • 06/30/2022- The BigCare 2022 Summer Workshop is completed. Completion certificates will be release after the 6-month post-workshop survey in December, 2022.
  • 04/18/2022- The enrollment for 2022 has completed. Workshop will be held virtually on May 13-27, 2022.
  • 03/20/2022- Applications are currently under review. Admission decisions will be sent out in April. 
  • 12/07/2021- Application for 2022 NCI-funded "Big Data Training for Cancer Research" workshop is now open! The application deadline is February 15, 2022.

    Purpose

    The National Cancer Institute (NCI) will hold a pre-application webinar on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, from 2:00 - 3:00 PM (ET) for the following Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) for "Pathway to Independence Award for Outstanding Early Stage Postdoctoral Researchers":

    • RFA-CA-21-060 - NCI Pathway to Independence Award for Outstanding Early Stage Postdoctoral Researchers (K99/R00 - Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
    • RFA-CA-21-061 - NCI Pathway to Independence Award for Outstanding Early Stage Postdoctoral Researchers (K99/R00 - Independent Clinical Trial Required)
    • RFA-CA-21-062 - NCI Pathway to Independence Award for Outstanding Early Stage Postdoctoral Researchers (K99/R00 - Independent Basic Experimental Studies with Humans Required)

    NCI staff members involved in these FOAs will provide orientation to potential applicants by explaining the goals and objectives for the FOAs and answer questions from webinar attendees.

    Participation in this webinar, although encouraged, is optional, and is not required for the submission of an application in response to RFA-CA-21-060, RFA-CA-21-061, and RFA-CA-21-062.

    Following the webinar, the presentation slides will be posted on https://www.cancer.gov/grants-training/training/funding/early-k99. The webinar will not be recorded.
