Authenticator DBM Get Realm Information (PUIDNETD_GIFO_REALMS)

This example shows a realm information request and explains the reply. A realm information request returns information about all authentication realms in the DBM, so there may be zero or more of the reply messages described below:

i	Mr

Reply message (excluding default information):

MName: purdue; ID: 1; Super admin: 0; Admin PUID: 18, Admin Mask: 3; Etype: 4; Max bad: -1; Delay: 100

Where:

  • Name -- is the name of the realm, in this case "purdue"
  • ID -- is the numeric (internal) realm ID
  • Super admin -- is the PUID of the realm's all-powerful super-administrator
  • Admin... Admin Mask -- a list of 0 or more sub-administrators and their realm
  • ACL Permissions
    • Etype -- is the encryption type used by this realm (see puid_etypes.h for the symbolic definitions for encryption types).
    • Max bad -- is the maximum number of bad authentication attempts before triggering an authentication policy.
    • Delay -- is the milliseconds of artificial delay to add to each authentication.
