Identity and Access Management

Identification

I2A2 identification is the process of establishing the PUID of a person making a request for resources. If the person knows the PUID, no further I2A2 action is needed. If the PUID isn't known, I2A2 will help determine it by some other personal key, such as name, coordinated PUCC career account alias, human resources identification number (HRID), or student identification number (SID).

The I2A2 Identificaiton DBM

A dedicated data base manager (DBM) of the I2A2 system supports determining a person's PUID from a personal key. The DBM is commonly called the "reflector", since it reflects PUID information held in the PUID Oracle database. It's abbreviation is refl.

How To

To determine a PUID from a personal key, these steps are required.

  1. Connect to the reflector.
  2. Make a lookup request.
  3. Parse the reflector's reply for errors and information.
