Turkish student group launches effort for those devastated by earthquake; event scheduled for today

In response to the devastating deadly earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on Monday, the Purdue Turkish Student Association has scheduled a gathering from 3:30-6:30 p.m. today (Feb. 10) in WALC, Room 1132, to raise money, supplies and other assistance in support of the earthquake-ravaged victims in the region.

After 10 years as an epidemiologist for Turks and Caicos Islands, Shandey Malcolm joined Purdue to pursue her passion for teaching and research. As a professor, she hopes to create an inclusive atmosphere that inspires a more diverse student population to pursue careers in public health.
