'Transforming' higher ed earns Purdue a seat on Google stage

Two Purdue University leaders, including President Mitch Daniels, have been invited to join brands like McDonald’s and The LEGO Group at Google Marketing Live on Tuesday (May 24). Like its selection to Fast Company magazine’s list of Brands That Matter, Purdue is both the only and first university invited to speak at the annual event.

More than 1,600 Purdue Global graduates take part in commencement

Some 1,630 Purdue University Global graduates took part in in-person and virtual commencement ceremonies Saturday (May 21) at the Murat Theatre at Old National Centre. Saturday marked Purdue University Global’s 13th commencement since its formation in 2018 and the third in Indianapolis. Two in-person ceremonies and a virtual one took place over the course of the day.

As a professor in the rapidly evolving field of computer science, Milind Kulkarni wants his students to train their minds to process issues they will confront many years from now. “I think this is especially important in computing, where the field changes so quickly, and the things that I learned even 10 years ago are not on the cutting edge now,” he says.
