Purdue launches major cluster hire effort to add 40 full-time faculty as part of $75 million diversity initiative

Purdue University is launching one of the largest faculty hiring initiatives in its history as a key part of a $75 million Equity Task Force effort to diversify the racial makeup of its faculty ranks. Over the next five years, 40 full-time faculty will be added through several academic clusters as part of this initiative.

Purdue’s 2020 voter registration action plan selected best in Big Ten

Purdue University’s Voter Engagement Action Plan aimed at promoting student registration and turnout during the 2020 election was selected as the best among its Big Ten peers in the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. The award for the Big Ten’s Best Action Plan, resulting in a 20-percentage point jump in student voter turnout to 67% in the 2020 election, was announced and presented to Purdue last week as part of several virtual ceremonies.

Anvil supercomputer to forge a new scientific frontier

Purdue University's powerful new Anvil supercomputer will enable new discoveries in fields ranging from hypersonics and deep learning to archeological reconstruction and bone biomechanics. Anvil, which is funded by a $22.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation, is being tested by more than 30 research teams and is expected to enter full production later this year.
