Ready, set, enroll: Open enrollment for 2022 benefits to begin Tuesday

Benefits open enrollment for 2022 begins Tuesday (Oct. 26) and ends at 6 p.m. ET on Nov. 9 for employees on the West Lafayette, Fort Wayne and Northwest campuses. All employees are strongly encouraged to review and actively enroll for 2022 benefits.

Purdue celebrated the return to the residential campus experience this fall by highlighting the first six weeks of student events and programming. Called “Purdue Weeks of Welcome,” this collaborative effort included departments and areas from Student Life, Diversity and Inclusion, and Teaching and Learning as well as more than 1,000 recognized student organizations. Seeds planted by civil rights trailblazers still growing today, tomorrow

During the early stages of the American civil rights movement and well before the landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision, sisters Winifred and Frieda Parker were leading the effort to integrate student housing on Purdue’s campus and across Indiana. On Oct. 3, the Parker sisters were honored for their courageous leadership with the dedication of two residence halls in their names on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus.

The sixth annual Distinguished and Named Professorship Ceremony on Thursday (Oct. 21) celebrated midcareer, distinguished and named professors and administrators at Purdue for their many accomplishments and successes. The ceremony featured a bestowal of medallions by Jay Akridge, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity, who led the ceremony.

Working with animals has always been a passion for Purdue University K-9 Officer Gabe Argerbright. When the opportunity to become a K-9 handler in the Purdue University Police Department (PUPD) arose, he knew it was something he wanted to do.
