Deadline is Friday to submit COVID-19 vaccination documentation; surveillance testing to begin Aug. 23

Reinforcing the need for each individual to take personal responsibility to protect themselves, others and the community, the key to upholding the Protect Purdue Pledge going forward will be choosing to be vaccinated and submitting valid proof by Friday (Aug. 13) or taking part in routine surveillance testing, which will begin on Aug. 23 and could be as frequent as weekly. President Mitch Daniels shares a short video update with the West Lafayette campus as faculty, staff and students start another year navigating the pandemic together. Daniels provides details on what to expect this year, and the responsibilities we all share to keep Purdue open. This begins with campus community members confirming their vaccination status by Friday (Aug. 13), choosing either vaccination or regular testing of the sort the entire campus cooperated in all last year.

Hypersonic ground test facility set for Purdue Aerospace District

A first-of-its-kind in the U.S. facility to test hypersonic technologies will be constructed in the Purdue Aerospace District adjacent to the Purdue University campus, already a hotbed for hypersonics research and aerospace technology developments. The Hypersonic Ground Test Center will be a central shared utility that supports multiple test cells and laboratories.

Police provide travel safety tips as fall semester nears

With campus operations returning to normal and record enrollment for the fall, the Purdue University Police Department is reminding students, faculty, staff and visitors to pay attention while navigating streets and sidewalks. Campus has become more accessible for pedestrians, bicyclists and those operating an EMPV (electric and motor powered vehicle) over recent years.
