Masks to be required inside Elliott Hall of Music during commencement ceremonies

In accordance with Protect Purdue guidelines, masks are required for anyone attending Purdue’s commencement ceremonies on Saturday (Aug. 7) in Elliott Hall of Music, meaning all people inside the building will be required to wear masks. Purdue announced Friday that masks in all indoor spaces are required on campus for students, employees and visitors, regardless of vaccination status.

Golden Ticket winner

'This Is Purdue': Old Golden Ticket vaccination drawing

This special edition of "This Is Purdue" features Purdue's journey to find and award the 10 Boilermaker students who won in the Old Golden Ticket vaccination drawing. Students who submitted valid proof that they were fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by July 15 were randomly selected to win the Golden Ticket — $9,992 — the equivalent of a year’s undergraduate tuition cost for an in-state Boilermaker since 2012-13. Listen in on Apple, Spotify or the Purdue website as the Purdue Marketing and Communications team highlights the behind-the-scenes details of pulling off these ultimate surprises. High schoolers spend summer jump-starting their college careers

The Purdue campus is filled with thousands of students this summer, including groups of rising juniors and seniors from Purdue Polytechnic High Schools as they prepare to turn their small steps into giant leaps. Thirty-two seniors from PPHS are participating in Purdue’s summer programs, which include the Summer College Program for High School Students, and the Summer Start and Early Start programs.

Purdue commencement orator prepares to retire after 141 ceremonies

Mike Piggott has had some unforgettable, heart-touching and “out of this world” moments during his time as Purdue University’s commencement orator. Piggott, who has announced the names of more than 100,000 Boilermaker graduates since becoming orator in December 2004, will retire after serving for the last time at Purdue’s two Aug. 7 commencement ceremonies.
