Provost’s ‘Conversation’ to provide spring semester updates

Provost Jay Akridge will host a Protect Purdue virtual conversation from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 28). This is part of the series of conversations initiated in the fall to answer faculty and staff questions and to keep the campus community updated on the Protect Purdue Plan.

Lockheed Martin, Purdue agreement signing ceremony

Purdue, Lockheed Martin announce major research partnership

Representatives from Purdue University and Lockheed Martin on Thursday (Jan. 21) signed a master research agreement (MRA), furthering an alliance between one of the largest global security and aerospace companies and a leader among universities in hypersonics research. Participants in the virtual signing ceremony included Tim Cahill and Larry Schuette of Lockheed Martin (standing, left and right); Theresa Mayer, Purdue executive vice president for research and partnerships; and Purdue President Mitch Daniels.

The latest episode of “This is Purdue” talks with Professor John Sullivan and some talented engineering students about their effort to break a speed record using a cutting-edge vehicle they designed and built as a team. Before COVID-19 hit, graduate student Ryan Kornegay planned to take educational programming he’s developed around to schools in Indiana, but the pandemic thwarted his plans while also presenting new opportunities for engagement. Kornegay, like many others in the College of Agriculture, quickly reformatted his educational content to fit a virtual learning space.
