The Indiana Space Grant Consortium helps launch interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines for elementary students to graduate students. Hosted at Purdue since 1991, the consortium is part of the National Space Grant College and Fellowship Program, a national network funded by NASA to inspire interest in STEM programs.
Faculty and staff news
A celebration on Memorial Mall will be one of the highlights of the first-ever Purdue Day of Giving on Wednesday (April 30). The event encourages students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors and friends from all campuses to contribute to the University.
Faculty members were recognized Thursday (April 24) for international and national awards, University and college honors, and distinguished and named professorships achieved since April 2013 at the Faculty Awards Convocation. The convocation also honored faculty for their years of service.
During the Faculty Awards Convocation on Thursday (April 24), the Morrill Awards were given to three faculty members whose careers have demonstrated excellence in teaching, research and in engagement missions.
The Travel Authority, a division of Altour, is available to work with Purdue faculty and staff to help plan personal vacations. Altour is the travel agency that fulfills ticketing and reservations when Purdue employees book airfare, hotel or car in Concur Travel & Expense.

Purdue is working with Whirlpool Corp. on a three-year project to convert a home near campus into the most efficient domicile possible -- a "net-zero" structure.
Neuro Vigor LLC announced Thursday (April 24) the signing of an exclusive worldwide license with Purdue Research Foundation to develop and commercialize technology that promises an innovative approach to reducing the symptoms and pain of neurological disease and injury, including multiple sclerosis, neuropathic pain and Parkinson's disease.
More than 50 Purdue students were recognized Wednesday (April 23) at the third annual Purdue Student Innovators Reception, held in the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship.
Purdue police are reminding the campus community to keep personal items secured in locked lockers when using the France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center. The reminder comes after the arrest of a student Wednesday (April 23) on a preliminary charge of stealing items from a facility patron.

Purdue and West Virginia University researchers are the first to sequence the genome of the golden eagle, providing a bird's-eye view of eagle features that could lead to more effective conservation strategies.

The 2014 Martin C. Jischke Outstanding International Student of the Year Award has been presented to Kenneth Tan, a senior in chemical engineering, to recognize his high academic achievement and efforts to promote cultural understanding through volunteer service.
The Barbara Cook Chapter of Mortar Board has awarded 10 fellowships to students seeking education beyond their undergraduate degree.

The Purdue women's golf team sets its sights on a seventh conference title as it heads to the Pete Dye Course in French Lick, Ind., for the 2014 Big Ten Championships, set for today through Sunday (April 25-27).
The 34th-ranked Purdue men's tennis team will look to continue its historic run at the Big Ten Tournament, hosted by Michigan State. Purdue, which has a No. 4 seed, received a first-round bye into today's (April 25) quarterfinals.
The postseason road begins for the 41st-ranked Purdue women's tennis team today (April 25) at the Big Ten Tournament, hosted by Northwestern at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center in Evanston, Ill.
