Presidential retrospective
This week, Purdue Today will focus on the key events and initiatives that have taken place during France A. Córdova's administration.
During her presidency, France A. Córdova has overseen a strategic plan that emphasizes student success, research deliverables and global engagement; led Purdue to record levels of research funding, reputational rankings and student retention rates; and guided the expansion of Purdue's role as a top research institution on the global stage. Highlights from 2007-08 include:
• Córdova welcomes 16 of Purdue's astronaut alumni for the dedication of Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering, hailing the new $53.2 million building as a gateway to engineering research and education.
• Córdova launches a $304 million scholarship campaign called Access & Success.
• Trustees adopt a six-year strategic plan called New Synergies.
