Sustainability

The United Nations World Commission on Environment and Development defined sustainable development in its 1987 report, "Our Common Future," as "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs."

For any effort to be sustainable, it must address environmental, social, and economic issues, as illustrated below.
