Office of Research recognizes employees for years of service and outstanding performance

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The annual Office of Research Employee Recognition event recently celebrated 38 colleagues for reaching years-of-service milestones, including Stephanie Willis from Sponsored Program Services, who hit a rare 50-year milestone, and presented Bravo Awards to 30 faculty and staff members. Jennifer Rettig received the 2023 Stacy L. Brown Outstanding Performance Award, which recognizes an Office of Research business staff member demonstrating excellence and commitment in providing customer-focused service.

The Stacy L. Brown Award honors a longtime member of the Office of Research team. Brown served as business manager at Birck Nanotechnology Center and also as associate director of financial affairs for Discovery Park, before becoming director of financial affairs for the Office of Research. Brown is remembered for her cheerful can-do attitude, dedication to excellence, strong work ethic and a commitment to exceptional customer service.  

Rettig, who received the 2023 Brown award, is a business analyst in finance supporting Discovery Park District at Purdue. She was recognized for her proactive approach to work, consistent pursuit of greater efficiency, and her contributions to teamwork to surpass client expectations. She is a shining example of the spirit behind the award honoring Stacy Brown.
