Upcoming workshop to cover online best practices for children

November 3, 2015

Human Resources will host a family-friendly workshop to discuss cyberbullying and social media from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 4) in Stewart Center, Room 311. Registration is due today (Nov. 3). Limited seats are available.

"Communicating with your Child: Social Networking and Cyberbullying" is a workshop that provides practical information for parents about online social networking. Attendees will learn how to help their child stay safe while online and get tips on developing guidelines on balancing electronics with in-person time. This workshop will be presented by Kathy Murray from Purdue Extension.

The family workshops are open to faculty, staff, students and spouses/same-sex domestic partners. Those attending are encouraged to bring lunch to eat while listening to the presentation. Time for asking questions and networking with other parents and caregivers will be offered.

Individuals with a Purdue career account can register online for this workshop, while those without a career account can email familyfriendly@purdue.edu to register. Additional information on local family-friendly happenings is available on the Family Friendly Purdue Facebook page.
