Edwards named new director of Purdue Black Cultural Center

Anne Edwards, a Purdue University alumna, has been named the Purdue Black Cultural Center’s next director. Edwards currently serves as director of the Center for Black Studies at Northern Illinois University and succeeds Renee Thomas, who was named the associate vice provost for the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging in 2021.

'Grief can bring people together': Vigil held in remembrance of student

Purdue faculty, staff and students, along with family and friends, gathered at the France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center on Wednesday evening (Oct. 12) for a vigil in remembrance of Varun Manish Chheda, a senior in the College of Science and Honors College. The vigil included remarks by President Mitch Daniels; Andrew Jensen, PSG president; Dr. Manish Chheda, Varun’s father; and two of Varun’s friends.
