VanFossen named interim dean of College of Education

Jay Akridge, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs and diversity, has announced the appointment of Phillip J. VanFossen as interim dean for the College of Education, effective July 1. VanFossen is the James F. Ackerman Distinguished Professor of Social Studies Education and director of the James F. Ackerman Center for Democratic Citizenship.

When worlds collide: Studying impact craters to uncover the secrets of the solar system

While for humans the constants might be death and taxes, for planets the constants are gravity and collisions. Brandon Johnson studies the latter, using information about impacts to understand the history and the composition of planets, moons, asteroids and meteorites throughout the solar system.

'This Is Purdue': Purdue Day of Giving celebrates Boilermaker spirit

The new episode of "This Is Purdue” is diving into Purdue Day of Giving, an annual event to support Purdue's giant leap as one of the world's leading academic institutions. Amber Turner and Kate Pottschmidt with Purdue for Life Foundation discuss how Day of Giving got started in 2014 and how it’s grown since then to raise a total of $241.5 million.
