‘Religion, Polarization, and the Public Space’ set for today

Five individuals from diverse religious viewpoints today (Feb. 19) will discuss “Religion, Polarization, and the Public Space” as part of Purdue University’s “Democracy, Civility, and Freedom of Expression,” a series of events aimed to engage people in these important societal topics. The moderated talk will start at 6 p.m. in Stewart Center’s Loeb Playhouse.

Purdue launches Fast Start program for Indiana high school students

In a move aligned with Purdue University’s land-grant mission, President Mitch Daniels announced Tuesday (Feb. 18) the Purdue Fast Start program, designed to help Indiana high school students earn access to up to a year of college credit through free online courses and the corresponding College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams.

Bridge Bust team at work

Purdue ASCE to host Bridge Bust competition for high school students

Area high school students will test their bridge design capabilities at Purdue’s annual Bridge Bust Competition on Friday (Feb. 21). The 41st annual Bridge Bust will feature 147 teams composed of 270 students from 19 schools in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky. The event also will be livestreamed.

Chronicle of Higher Education recognizes Purdue for Fulbrights

Purdue has eight Fulbright Scholars for 2019-20 -- a number that has earned the University a place on the Chronicle of Higher Education’s annual list of “Top Producers of Fulbright U.S. Scholars and Students, 2019-20.” The eight faculty Fulbrights are the most ever Purdue has had in one academic year.
