Chris Ruhl appointed Purdue CFO and treasurer

President Mitch Daniels announced Tuesday (Dec. 3) that Chris Ruhl will be the University’s next treasurer and chief financial officer, effective Jan. 1. The appointment is subject to final ratification by Purdue’s Board of Trustees, expected Friday (Dec. 6).

How does protein fit in your holiday diet or New Year’s resolutions?

While some diets load up on protein and other diets dictate protein sources, it can be hard to know what to consume while managing weight or during weight loss. A new study by Purdue nutrition scientists shows that eating more protein daily than what is recommended may benefit only a few -- those who are actively losing weight by cutting calories or those strength training to build more lean muscle mass.

Purdue students carve history into 100-year-old train tracks

Buried beneath dirt, brick, asphalt and 100 years of city growth lay train tracks that took countless people between Lafayette and West Lafayette on the Lafayette Street Railway from the 1880s to the 1940s. In 2017, these steel tracks, believed to be more legend than fact, were discovered and recovered during the State Street Renovation Project.

Holiday cheer continues at Purdue Memorial Union with tree lighting

Purdue Memorial Union on Tuesday (Dec. 3) held its annual lighting of the Christmas tree ceremony, with Beth McCuskey, vice provost for student life, officially lighting the tree. The event is part of PMU's Holidays at the Union celebration. The tree's arrival and the lighting ceremony are captured in a new photo gallery and time-lapse video.
