License plate recognition testing at gated garages this week

Purdue Parking and Transportation Services will be testing license plate recognition software at the Grant Street and Harrison Street parking garages on the West Lafayette campus this week. Also, all individuals who park on campus are reminded to keep their license plates clear of dirt, snow or other debris and continue to park with their license plates facing the drive lane.

‘Imagination heaven’ playground on Purdue campus built to help children with communication challenges

Barrie Harvey, mother to 4-year-old Asher, calls a playground on the West Lafayette campus designed for children with communication challenges an “imagination heaven.” The Bob L. and Joyce Beery Miles Outdoor Learning Space at Lyles-Porter Hall was designed for researchers in Purdue’s Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences to encourage children with communication, sensory and motor skill challenges to interact through play, says Anne Gritt, a clinical assistant professor in SLHS.
