Purdue will conduct evacuation drills and test its all-hazards outdoor emergency warning sirens this week during Boiler Gold Rush, the orientation program for new students. The University's campus sirens are scheduled to be activated at 4:30 p.m. Friday (Aug. 16). New students also will be evacuated from Elliott Hall of Music during one of two sessions Friday to demonstrate the procedures associated with building evacuations. |

Exploration Acres, Northwest Indiana’s largest corn maze and pumpkin patch, has created an 18-acre corn maze commemorating Purdue’s “150 Years of Giant Leaps.” The maze, located near Lafayette, will open to the public on Sept. 13. While anticipating that, people can vote for it through Aug. 26 in a national corn maze contest.
