The latest issue of Discovery: Innovation@Purdue Engineering online magazine focuses on the new Innovation for International Development (I2D) Lab, which offers seed grants for creative engineering efforts that seek to overcome major problems for populations struggling with issues of poverty or conflicts. One I2D project, led by Jennifer DeBoer (in photo), assistant professor of engineering education, is developing an integrated online/classroom curriculum to bring engineering skills to street children in Kenya.

Deputy director of Johnson Space Center to speak today at Purdue

Mark Geyer, deputy director of Johnson Space Center, today (Nov. 10) will visit Purdue to speak about space. Geyer's talk, titled "Orion and NASA Deep Space Exploration," is part of the Purdue Libraries Distinguished Lecture Series. The talk is scheduled for 6 p.m. in Stewart Center's Loeb Playhouse.
