Instructional innovations in engineering featured in Teaching Academy video series

Strategies for engaging engineering students in ways that represent what is happening in their fields are among the topics discussed by professors Kathleen C. Howell and Jason Weiss, two recent Teaching Academy honorees, in a new video series.

  • Benefits presentation -- 2:30-3:30 p.m., Mechanical Engineering Building, Room 1009.
  • Walk-in lab -- 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Freehafer Hall, Room 104.
  • Benefits presentation for Chinese and Vietnamese speakers -- 10-11 a.m. Stewart Center, Room 314.

    Hotseat

    Hotseat study aims to gauge Purdue app's effect on student learning

    Continuing lecturer Rebecca Trax is partnering with the Office of Institutional Research, Assessment and Effectiveness to test the effect of Hotseat, Purdue's backchannel classroom discussion and polling platform, on student preparation and learning. Instructors interested in conducting similar research on Hotseat and other Studio by Purdue tools are encouraged to contact Brent Drake, Purdue's chief data officer, at bmdrake@purdue.edu.
