'Vishing' attempts to hook sensitive personal information by phone call or voice mail

"Vishing" is an attempt to use a phone call or voice mail for the same kinds of purposes as scam emails classified as "phishing," including stealing and misusing your private personal and financial information. ITaP has some tips on how to recognize and avoid vishing scams.

Thumbs Up: Jon Biggs

Since 2010, Purdue Today has invited faculty and staff to recognize the good work of others on campus through its weekly "Thumbs Up" feature. This semester, the newsletter periodically will publish an expanded version of this popular feature in an effort to further call attention to employees' excellent work. The expanded series continues with a "Thumbs Up" on Jon Biggs, technical training specialist in Workplace Learning and Development in Physical Facilities.
