The Purdue Farmers Market will reopen Thursday (May 1), and it will offer a host of locally produced foods, including prepared lunches, nearly every Thursday through Oct. 30. The market's location and hours of operation have changed from previous years.
Faculty and staff news
The Purdue community is encouraged to join President Mitch Daniels and members of the emergency preparedness and security feedback panel for a President's Forum on Wednesday (April 30) in Purdue Memorial Union, South Ballroom. The forum, scheduled for 8-9 a.m., will focus on the final report and recommendations of the panel, which was formed after the Jan. 21 shooting on the West Lafayette campus.

Registration for the talent show at Spring Fling, the annual appreciation event for faculty, staff, graduate student staff and retirees, ends at 5 p.m. Thursday (May 1). Registration for the vehicle show, fitness walk and volunteers ends at 5 p.m. May 9.
The 2014 Richard A. Hadley APSAC Professional Development Series on Tuesday (April 29) will discuss how to create a service-based professional environment, employ constructive communication and maintain working relationships. Seating at the event is filled, but a live stream of the presentation will be available.
"Thumbs Up" gives faculty and staff the chance to recognize others on campus for a job well done.

President Mitch Daniels is scheduled to appear today (April 28) on the nationally broadcast "The Kelly File" with Megyn Kelly.
Jimmy Simpson of Delta Tau Delta won Saturday's (April 26) 57th annual Purdue University Grand Prix race. It was the second consecutive Grand Prix victory for Simpson, who last year became the first driver to win both the "gas" Grand Prix and the Purdue Electric Vehicle Grand Prix.

The Purdue Day of Giving on Wednesday (April 30) will include two telecasts on the Big Ten Network of the University's half-hour program titled "Purdue Day of Giving: 04•30•14," one at 9 a.m. and one at 9 p.m. (ET).
Inspired by his 6-year-old son, Purdue University Fire Department firefighter and paramedic Blair Blanch spends his days off training other public safety personnel about autism.
