Faculty and staff news
The Office of the Provost has selected six faculty members to participate in the Committee on Institutional Cooperation Academic Leadership Program during the 2013-14 academic year. The CIC is a consortium of the Big Ten member universities plus the University of Chicago.
Nominations are being accepted for Purdue's Book of Great Teachers, which honors outstanding teaching faculty who have demonstrated sustained excellence in the classroom.
Clerical and service staff must use their fiscal year 2012-13 personal holiday by June 30. The paid personal holiday does not carry over from one fiscal year to the next.
The Clerical and Service Staff Advisory Committee on May 14 elected Lisa Gross vice chair for 2013-14.
Faculty and staff can learn tips for healthy midday eating and strategies for increasing their physical activity at June workshops offered by the Center for Healthy Living (CHL). To register for the workshops, call Amber Simons, wellness coordinator at 49-46475. Limited seats are available.
The School of Nursing will offer a limited number of employee wellness screenings on June 11. Screenings then will resume after Labor Day.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Title IX, Purdue has recognized 40 individuals with the Title IX Distinguished Service Award for their significant contributions to the advancement of gender equity in education. Profiles on the recipients will be presented in Purdue Today each month. This month features Leah Jamieson, Amy Ruley, Dorothy Stratton, Emily Wadsworth and Toyinda Wilson-Long.
Several thousand faculty, staff and retirees enjoyed Spring Fling, the annual employee appreciation event held this year on May 23.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association announced the 2012-13 All-American teams for Division I women's golf on Wednesday and senior Paula Reto was named to the first team.
The No. 7 Purdue women's golf team shot a 300 in the fourth and final round of the 2013 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championships to earn sole possession of third place.
Six members of Purdue's track and field team will compete in the NCAA Outdoor Championships starting Wednesday (June 5).
