TODAY'S THEME: ENERGY

Team working to certify Rawls Hall for energy sustainability

Michael Gulich, director of sustainability, is working with a team of graduate students to make Rawls Hall a more energy-efficient and greener building. The team, composed of second-year MBA students, engineering and technology graduate students, is enrolled in an Experiential Learning Project course focused on making Jerry S. Rawls Hall certified under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.

* David Orr, environmental educator, author and designer, will speak on "Designing Resilience in a Black Swan World" at 3:30-5 p.m. in Stewart Center, Fowler Hall. Orr is the Paul Sears Distinguished Professor of Environmental Studies and Politics at Oberlin College in Ohio. The talk is part of the Discovery Lecture Series. More

Purdue Pete model seeks Boiler fans' backing
in LEGO competition

The presidential election is not the only one in which Purdue fans can vote this fall. And, just as in the general election, voter turnout will be crucial on Wednesday (Oct. 24) as a LEGO model of Purdue Pete, the Boilermakers' sports mascot, seeks support.

Diversity events to connect with 'The Race Experience' kiosk

Several events by the Diversity Resource Office and others are scheduled for Oct. 23-27, coinciding with the visit of 'The Race Experience' kiosk at Purdue and promoting discussion of race and diversity.

Senior outside hitter Ariel Turner has been named as one of 10 finalists for the 2012 Senior CLASS Award, which honors student-athletes for their achievements in community, classroom, character and competition.
